Operation of Aircraft Phase In Support

During the last years we have witnessed an increase in the number of aircraft, both new and pre-owned, being imported and registered in Malta. The very pro-business corporate taxation system, strong legislative framework and extensive double taxation treaties together with the comprehensive registration possibilities for non-commercial/ commercial air transport make the island an attractive destination for both Aircraft Operators and private owners.

The two main processes taking place when aircraft is sold to a buyer in a different country are the export and import.  Once the sale is finalised, the aircraft needs to be deregistered from the country of register with an Export Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA). Once the aircraft is delivered and customs-cleared, an Import Airworthiness certificate for the new country of registration needs to be issued verifying the conformity with the local authority`s regulations and requirements. Our professional team has the experience and knowledge to guide and assist you during this transaction and further.
